Toolkit

Cybersave Yourself is the security awareness campaign for education and research. Here you will find security tips, videos and games on security and privacy awareness, among other things. Cybersave Yourself offers a toolkit with materials institutions can use to create their own awareness programs.

Toolkit for institutions

A special Cybersave Yourself toolkit has been developed for institutions affiliated with SURF. The toolkit contains communication tools that institutions can use in their own security campaign. Institutions can personalize the resources by adding their own logo or corporate identity. In addition, the toolkit contains information on setting up a long-term awareness program. Dutch Educational and research institutions log into the toolkit with their institution account. The toolkit is aimed at Dutch speaking security and privacy professionals. The material in de toolkit is available in Dutch and English.

Creating an awareness program

For institutions interested in creating an annual awareness program, embed awareness structurally in the organization and make the results measurable. An awareness program helps an institution reach a higher maturity level and improve cyber resilience. Once you have an awareness program in place, implementing various awareness campaigns is the next step.

Create a campaign with CSY materials

For institutions ready to set up an actual awareness campaign we made some of our material available as a direct download from this website. An awareness campaign is short-term awareness activity. This is a good tool to use when immediate attention is needed for awareness or there is an incident or cyber-attack.

Overview of material in the CSY toolkit

The goal of CSY is to make employees and students more aware of (digital) information security and privacy. The service provides campaign materials that institutions can use to conduct their own awareness campaigns, with materials aimed at various target groups: students, staff, researchers, faculty, management.

For anyone within Dutch Education and Research concerned with security and privacy awareness, there is the Cybersave Yourself Community. Here you can exchange experiences and tips, ask questions and have discussions and get the latest information. We also organize meetings on security and privacy awareness.
